11/11/11

11/11/11

A Poem by Lexi Richard

I try not to remember
that one inky year
that felt devoid of the sun
and was full of bitter tears
I was surrounded by pleas
unspoken but heard
my lungs could've collapsed
from the weight of each word
I can't help but think
was I to blame?
she tells me "no,
it's a disease of the brain"
But why are we so fooled?
thinking we are full of might
we believe we're supreme
even when our brains begin to fight
And that year's when I learned -
humans are nothing more
than skin, blood and bones
who have no choice in this world

true, sometimes we don't have choice but still, i'll say live momentarily, live happily. Nice work!

Good writing
for a 16 year old amazing

We do have a choice, we can live our lives as best as we are able. We don't know how long we will walk this earth, but however long it is we should love life. All those who died had a life and families, their life was cut short, we all have to go at some time. Let's prepare to die by living to the full. And praise God.

Yes, I agree, thank you for sharing and reviewing.
Ironic. 11/11 is supposed to be lucky, but clearly it wasn't so for you.
Good poem though, definitely relatable.
