Past, Present, Future

Past, Present, Future

A Poem by EdenHarper

Windows to the soul

Take in a broken scene

Replaying daily to behold

Stories wishing to be untold

Statue faces unmoving

Unable from ashes to rise

Is their heart still beating?

Or from their past still fleeing?

Feet of weights wondering

On paths leading far away

From dreams had long ago

Of a destination no one will know

Calloused fingers working still

To mend the rift so large

Scars don’t heal, graves already dug

But both can be covered with one thing-

Love

Hi there,
just came across this poem by chance - such a short but very profound theme.
Loved the line:
"Stories wishing to be untold"
Perhaps the second line should be "broken scene ..."?
Thanks for sharing,
Lizbeth
