I'll Be Home for Christmas

I'll Be Home for Christmas

A Poem by EdenHarper

Frosty panes and pale blue eyes
No snow- no flakes you realize-
Just a nose to the glass

Faint sigh of foggy breath is heard
Heartfelt wish now seeming absurd-
Just a nose to the glass

Eyelids taking on the wait
Icy fingers in a frightful state-
Nose still to the glass

Her tasks abandoned, stove turning cold
Coco and mittens added to the trove-
Two noses to the glass

Stomping boot and camo green
The wish- not for snow, but him to be seen-
Now three noses to the glass
