2017 and what it gave to me

This is a poem about 2017 and what it brought to me. while every year comes with its challenges I felt that 2017 really pushed me and beat me up.

                    2017

                        Was a year that redefined me

                        It came with many hard lessons

                        Including how to fully get over depressions

                        But if you ask me

                        I would not change a thing

                        Because I learned that seasons like these are a key.

                        2017 taught to value your loved ones

                        Because next thing you know they are not there

                        And you are left staring at the sun.

                        2017 taught that while love is such a wonderful thing

                        It ends just as quick as it started and comes with a sting

                        2017 taught that friendships can come with betrayals

                        And the shock of seeing someone you once loved  turns you hateful.

                        2017 taught that in this world you only really have you

                        Because no one else would really be there when you are blue

                        So, to sum up 2017 was quite the journey

                        And this time I won’t want the year to end in a hurry

                        Because I know that seasons like these are a key

                        To become the person that I want to be.
