The Precious Nine Carat Diamond (Ode to Baseball)

The Precious Nine Carat Diamond (Ode to Baseball)

A Poem by AJ Ouzts II

My most precious diamond

Forged in the mind, body, and soul of each carat

Each carat has its own unique part in the diamonds formation

And with each part crystals are formed

Each crystal needs the other in order to achieve that one goal of…

Perfection

Carat one

Changed through the course of the formation of crystals

But can be viewed as a group that is one carat

Part of the first crystal

Depends on the other carats the most

And needs the trust of each of the carats

Carat two

The foundation of the diamond

Holding down the fort for the first crystal

It gives confidence to carat one

Giving instructions to all carats on the formation of the diamond

It has the best view on how the diamond is supposed to be shaped

Carat three

The first of the second crystal or the inner diamond

Makes up for the mistakes of the other three carats in the inner diamond

Not the most mobile of the crystals but covers more than its share

Carat four

A part of the inner diamond

Covering the majority of the left side of the diamond

Orchestrates a mighty tandem with carat six

Carat five

Plays a role in the inner diamond

Covers for things that crystal one struggles with

Understanding its own role and backing up others

Carat six

The heart and soul of the inner diamond

Covers a continent of area

Working in harmony with carat four

The two do miraculous things

Carat seven

Keeping the left side of the third crystal or outer diamond in tact

Not the glorious of carats

But is vital in keeping the diamond strong

Carat eight

The leader of the outer diamond

Influencing all carats of the outer diamond

Knowing what and when to cover for its carat brethren

Carat nine

The final piece to the outer diamond

Keeping the right side of the diamond from wavering

Does not get the credit it deserves but loves doing what it has to

Nine carats

Three crystals

One diamond

Working to become an impenetrable force

Striving to become the perfect precious diamond

The Most Precious Nine Carat Diamond
