An Unanswered Question

A Poem by Black Rose

He was just a boy,
From across the street,
My best friend,
Who played with me.
We were kids back then,
Now i'm older,
Yet I still remember,
Playing with you.
I had a crush on you,
But you never liked me back,
Boy,was I a fool,
To fall for the demons trap.
You left me,
Moved,
Disappeared,
Without a goodbye.
And i have never seen you since.
Years have passed,
As i'm passing the park,
We played in.
I stumble across you,
Same brown eyes,
Black hair,
But you are a man now,
And no longer the boy I knew.
I yelled out your name,
But you did not react,
As I came closer,
You told me to leave.
Don't you recognize me I asked,
With tears running down my cheeks,
But I was only to be ignored.
Have I really changed,
That he didn't recognize me?
Falling on the ground,
Covered up in tears,
I hear my name being called,
By him.
He apologized and said,
That he finally remembered,
So I asked him why he left me,
That time when we were kids.
A simple sigh was all I heard,
And the chirping of a bird,
He left me once again,
With an unanswered question.

Doesn't sound like a good guy. "The demon's trap", such is the beauty of men.
