Is my teacher dead? "a tribute to Franz Kafka"

Is my teacher dead? "a tribute to Franz Kafka"

A Poem by Lina Gilani
"

This a tribute that i wrote to my teacher Franz Kafka it was inspired by The Metamorphosis

"

Who is that hanging up there over the curtain
Throwing his shadow all over the room?
Who stands there over the shelves
Whispering his guilt
And longing to things still unseen, words still unspoken, eyes still not open?

Who lurks there looking me in the eye
Telling me all he can't utter
Ordering me to do nothing
But what I understand from his silence?

O! who lays there still
Over his back...stiff.
Watch the lips moving only to keep up with the rythm of the broom
That tempts me to dance and cry over my teacher
And then attack him from behind even when he's dead.

Who remains there?
Who WAS he... what was IT?

Is my teacher dead?!
