When I woke up I was alone in my bed. I sighed and felt my heart sink, of course the guy who every girl is chasing after isn’t interested in me in that way. I rolled over and looked at the clock, it was 6. 



'did I really dream up him coming into my room last night?'

I guessed so. I sighed, it really was a nice dream though. 

I got up and ran through my 'get ready' routine. I put on black Dickie shorts with a studded belt and a black wife beater with a turquoise one layered over it. I lined the edges of my eyes with blue and sprayed on some perfume. I walked out the door and was greeted with sunshine. 

It was a beautiful day outside and I didn’t mind walking to school. Ashley had finally gotten over being sick but I called her to tell her I would walk today. I had a feeling it would be a nice day. When I got to school Matt ran up and hugged me from behind and spun me at the same time. 



"Lexie!" he said drawing out my name



I squealed as he spun me. I returned his enthusiasm.



"MATT!!" I said as I faced him and hugged him



We laughed as we greeted each other as if we hadn’t seen each other in years instead of just last night. People stared at us as we laughed and poked at each other as we walked to my locker. 


"Hey I gotta run...I’ll catch you later Lex" Matt said as he sprinted off to class.



Jennifer walked up next to me. She looked down her nose at me and scoffed. 
     

'' Oh look, another confused girl dressing as a guy, or are you a confused guy dressing as a girl? Its really getting hard to tell Lexie, honestly” she flipped her hair "Guys want a woman not a tom boy" she said 

"Well, then again, maybe we arent trying to attract the same kind of guys" she added



"You know what Jen you’re absolutely right” I looked at her and smiled sweetly before adding “because any guy who would like me ...would know what a snob you are" I said

“That’s why I have a date to the prom and you don’t" she said with a smirk



'Touché' I thought 



"Maybe Im going stag.." I said. I cringed on the inside at the thought of attending prom alone.



"Maybe its because no one wants to go with you" she laughed and glared at me.

We leered at each other and then it crossed my mind....will she be with Tyson?



"Who asked you?" I asked acting uninterested


"Tyson" she said and flipped her hair and walked to class



My heart sank.


'I cant believe out of all the people Tyson asked her...' I thought



"Who'd I ask? And to what?" Tyson’s voice was in my ear out of nowhere. 

         "Tyson! Um” I laughed nervously “Nothing! Don’t barge into my thoughts!" I said 



He laughed



"Sorry but I wasn’t doing it on purpose, I just heard my name so naturally I listened" he said



"You asked Jen to prom " I whined



"Yeah…I know you aren't fond of her but she's really a nice girl you know" He said smiling

"You mean she has a nice body" I smirked

"Yeah, okay that too" Tyson laughed "I'm still a guy okay" he said smiling

"Gross" I laughed and walked to class
