I twisted my feet around in the water. I smiled and giggled as I blew bubbles with the soap. I closed my eyes and started to day dream…until someone started banging on the door.

 

“Um hello some of us would like to shower too” Aurora’s voice shattered my perfect silence.

 

“Yeah yeah” I brushed her off

 

I got out of the water and wrapped a towel around me. I put on my sweats and a long tee shirt and opened the door. Aurora was standing there tapping her foot.

 

“Could you move a little slower? I’d like to get into my three hundreds before I shower” Aurora said sarcastically

 

“You know, you’re so much smarter when you don’t open your mouth” I said

 

Aurora was caught off guard

 

“What did you say to me?” she said

 

“I said, you’re so much smarter with your mouth shut” I retorted “Look I don’t know what I did to you but you’ve been a total witch to me ever since I got here. You’re a stuck up spoiled snob so just stay away from me and we’ll both be happier” I said.

 

 I couldn’t believe it came out of my mouth.

 

“That’s it” Aurora said.

 

Aurora took a step back, her eyes turned completely white and her hair turned jet black. A glowing ball appeared in her hand, it was a brilliant blue. I took a deep breath and stepped back. She hurled the ball at me and I ducked just in time for it to miss me. It hit the wall and exploded, the wall had a huge chunk missing and it cracked all the way to the ceiling

 

“What's going on!” Seth ran in the room.

 

Aurora formed another blue ball in her hand. Tyson ran in the room.

 

“Aurora stop! Now! Shes human!” Seth screamed.

 

The next few things happened so fast. Aurora threw the ball of light, Tyson jumped on top of Aurora and that burst of blue light…hit me square in the chest. I felt myself fly off my feet and into the back wall.  James, Matt and Kyle ran into the room.

 

“Get her out of here” Tyson yelled, holding Aurora to the floor. Seth jumped on top of Aurora as well and helped Tyson hold her to the floor. Matt scooped me up and ran out of the room with me, Kyle followed.

 

“I’m fine” I choked out. I realized it was really painful to breathe

 

“Lexie shh please don’t talk” Matt said and he set me down

 

“We have to move fast Matt its spreading” I heard Kyle say

 

The room started to spin, the colors blurred together and settled on a deep black.  I heard the voices of Matt and Kyle fade into the background.

 

I felt someone shaking me.

 

“Lexie? Lexie?” Seth was shaking me gently.

 

I opened my eyes.

 

“hey” I smiled.

 

I started to sit up and I felt a sharp pain in my chest.

 

“Woah there” Seth caught me and had me lay back down “stay down” he laughed.

 

“Owwww” I whined “What happened”

 

“You told Aurora off that’s what happened” Seth smiled

 

“Yeah and she threw a temper tantrum” Matt said

 

James ran in and hopped on the couch next to me.

 

“Watch it!” Seth said protectively

 

“Chill bro” James said to Seth. James looked at me “you’re gnarly! You took an energy ball to the chest and you’re sitting up two hours later. Righteous” James smiled.

 

Aurora walked in the room.

 

“Sorry human” She said. I could tell she was only doing it to appease the boys.

 

I glared at her. I rolled my eyes and rolled over.

 

“Aurora why don’t you go put on make up or something.” James said.  I could hear the annoyance in his voice.

“C’mon guys, we’ve all lost our cool before” Kyle said

 

“Not on a human” Tyson whipped out.

 

“Yes, on a human” I said. “Tyson you even punched me once” I laughed

 

“Yeah but that was an accident” Tyson said.

 

“ Woah bro you punched lexie? Rude” James said

 

I laughed.

 

“But its because you lost your cool, and Kyle he could’ve accidentally turned me into mush with all his punching of lockers, she’s hu- well not human but she’s normal. Its fine.” I said.

 

Seth ruffled my hair.

 

“At least it was just an energy ball and not a light ball” Seth said

 

“What are those things” I asked

 

“An energy ball is just that a ball of energy. It’s meant to slowly disperse through out the body. It can’t kill you but it hurts like a- well it hurts a lot. And a light ball is a ball that paralyzes you upon impact. It paralyzes and blinds. They’re pretty heavy if you ask me”. Matt said

 

“damn sillian” James said

 

We all laughed.

"So, can you all make those? Like, energy balls and light balls and stuff?" I asked wondering about their powers

"Well, we can make energy balls. But not light balls" Tyson said

"Why not light balls?" I said confused

 

Aurora walked into the room and sat on Kyles lap. He sat uneasily with her. I shook my head and rolled over uncomfortably on the couch.

"They can't make light balls because they aren't made of light, they can make dark balls" She said

The boys looked uneasy.

"Well thats still cool I guess" I said "Whats a dark ball do?" I asked

"It kills humans like you and returns their soul to them." Aurora said bored

Kills humans like me? I couldn't imagine any of them killing humans.

"Well god Aurora when you put it that way..." Matt started

"I can make fire balls" Matt offered proudly

"Nice" I said

"I can control the elements" Seth chimed in

"Really? How so?" I said intrigued 

"Rain" Seth spoke

"Rain?" I said

Just then rain started pouring down on the house. It thrashed against the windows. My eyes shot to Seth. A smile played across his lips.

"Thunder" He spoke again

Thunder rattled the house and I jumped. He laughed and closed his eyes. Then it was silent. Everything stopped and returned to normal. He opened his eyes and looked at me. I stared in awe.

"Yeah yeah, yay you. Element control. I can shift" Tyson said

"Shift?" I asked

"Between worlds. I can change dimensions" Tyson said

"Its really rare actually" James added.

I tried to stifle a yawn. I loved hearing about the boys. 

“C’mon you cant sleep here, you can have my bed its fine” Seth said

 

“No its really okay” I said

 

“He’s right Lex you really should be in a bed” Tyson said

 

Tyson scooped me up and carried me downstairs to Seths room. He laid me on a single bed, there was another small bed next to me. I was guessing I’d be sleeping in the same room as James since it was James and Seth’s room. I was surprised when Seth walked in.

 

“I thought you had the couch?” I smiled and leaned up on my elbows.

 

“James figured out how to make a hammock out of a sheet so he is resting downstairs in it. He’s part monkey I swear” Seth laughed

 

“Apparently” I laughed

 

Seth climbed into his bed that was a few feet from mine and clicked off the light.

 

“Night human” he said

 

“Night demon” I closed my eyes.

I like James. he seems funny. ha. ha. He's a good character. So, are the vampires sleeping? Or are they just there to relax while Lexie sleeps? I'm a little confused but this chapter was really good either way. lol. Aurora is still getting on my nerves though. I might have to enter your story and beat her up. ha. :D
