Winterberry

Winterberry

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

.is what I make.

"

When I don't have anything

I make things to exist beyond

All the beautiful things

That make you weep

I keep them close

What we loved over

I call it winterberry

What I keep for ever

What you cannot take away

Not from me

No not never

When I don't have any reason

not to wait for u

I think of Winterberry

and here am i

Winterberry .. what a wonderful word, for your own personal treasured world. ( when you have nothing at all to remember well!) You portray the feeling of having everything taken away, simply but really effectively. Your poem ends on 'i'. Very significant, keep that 'i' filled with 'winterberry'!

Those possessions of the heart. No one can take them, from us and they always find us.
Beautiful words.

This is interesting- "What we loved over," -the commonalities over certain things now form a kind of reaffirming object in the mind, something that gives a sense of love or reassurance in times of need.
Maybe?
That was my take on it. I think everyone has a kind of Winterberry, in that case.

Fair enough. Carmen.
I seriously can relate to this so much. I’m not sure whether the ideas I contrive from it are intentional, but I connect to it either way.

Creating something in places where there is nothing. A something that is in your mind, so it feels personal and precious, and nothing can take it away. That something lets you “wait” without minding the “wait”.

Not to mention the name makes it personal which I like.

I enjoyed the idea I was able to derive from your poem.

Romance is merely a byproduct of evolution. That should be on a valentine's day card.
Beautiful and that’s the best place to be where you are and nothing can distract you from goodness and self worth🌹

Winterberries are indeed sweet things to have beside us always! *smile*

Time may change, people may leave but the winterberries will never do so, and that's what adds much to their beauty :)

Loved the title of your poem, and how you wrapped it all into the sweet belongings that nobody can take us away from us.the reason to smile fir all good that happened once, and may not happen again.

I loved the 3rd and 4th line of the first stanza, it is both thoughtful and deep.

Very beautiful, and a powerful piece :)
Well done!

This has a melancholic note, even romantic, well resigned romantic, sort of. A fitting title - the things we make up exist no matter the seasons or people. Love it.
I would've chosen a Radiohead song, maybe '' True love waits'', but yours is a nice one though.
