Yesteryear's Veil; Tomorrow, I Love Ya

Yesteryear's Veil; Tomorrow, I Love Ya

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

The truth today is only a veil

that hides us

from the impending terrors

of the "what's coming"

aka the "doom due tomorrow"

from the horrors past

facts concerning past things

like the yesterday's past

perception's

manifestation's

tallied up

into a sum

of what's not real

and what's most likely

projected simulation

into our today

reality

into the time lie

(good and tight)

so the future is this sum

of the great many parts

really very

Meaningless

          on their own

I like this. I agree, those things from our past are meaningless by themselves. All of yesterday's 'bits' come together to create purpose for our present and future selves. Your phrase, "yesterday's past," acknowledges that those "past things" belong to our yesterdays. This concept of one's past coming altogether, piece by piece, to create significance seems essential to 'the human experience'. Without our former selves, we wouldn't be who we currently are today. Perhaps we might be less unique and slightly less of an individual. Good write. It provoked thought.
