This reminds me of my dad for sure. He absolutely loves to “break the truth” to people, yet he always manages to become their best friend in the process.

I appreciate how much you were able to say in a few words, like always.
I especially like the “beneath conempt and above reproach” lines. I thought they were a very clever addition.

I enjoyed the read!

It's almost always pretty fun to be beneath contempt. Thanks for reading and stuff.

my pleasure.
"In clever line and verse" is the key here, and where the masters rise above the rest. It's easy to be jerk and speak the truth. It's mastered art to speak the truth and get everyone to laugh, even when they know it's about them. Love the Shaw quote, too.

not all comedian carry a good sense of humor,,I find many of them with a lame thoughts..but completely agree that truth is conveyed through humor sometime for own existence.sometime to keep their heart while giving them the true picture..and sure you have a wonderful skill to convey the right things with those few words.

Of course!
There is that fine line in laughing with someone and laughing at them.
There is power in humor but I prefer to wheel that old southern charm and offer the truth with a smile. :)
