15 Minutes of Fame (or shame)

15 Minutes of Fame (or shame)

American fame and glory

Now vulgarized

All sallow and whorey

Now summarized

As hollow and transitory

Now despised

As shallow and predatory

The adjectives you use are great, especially ending on "predatory" since fame preys on our insecurities of not being high enough, known enough, wealthy enough. It's glorified, but vulgarized. Nice poem.

Fame is a lot different than it used to be with the internet, YouTube, and reality TV. This is a very poignant piece. Sadly a very true and honest piece of the price and description of fame.
