Immolation

Immolation

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

burning without dying; living on fire

"
to find the purity
in destruction
you must be committed
to fine distinctions
between the constructive pains
and the useless pleasures
between the stress of things
and those accomplishments
between the disappointments
and success of objectives
between the superfluous
and important things. . .
burns our useful fire
that thing that brought us here
across oceans of time
what feels uncomfortable
always until it is gone
between the useful pains
and the objective miseries
of being a living thing
between what crushes you
and what enhances you
is that disposition
which makes you strong
what makes us stronger
across oceans of time
within those who survive
burns this human fire

purity for some - like realest purity - like at its zenith ya know - can be found for some in an instant - can be found within the cool snap of your fingers - finding that same purity for other may remain a forever elusive task because the separations you mention can never fully be understood in the way they need to be from the viewpoint of their own eyes ... ah its such an an amazing think to think how intricately different each of us is to one another - as well as being quite the same.

To see things is they are - it’s there - we just need to life the curtain before us X

I wish I wrote with more poetic grace, it reads kind of ugly. But the m.. read more
Very insightful poem. What struck me most was your ability to present such minute distinctions which mostly many people seem to overlook. It is important for all of us to always consider these 'fine distinctions'.
Beautiful!

Thank you sami. Glad you like it.
we all have a fire within us more some than others
some die out quickly as its lit, some fires live on to their last faint breath, some just die away from sadness dissapoints and life itself, some fight back with fire and fury some fires just kindle and burn away forever soft mellow gentle flames ready to turn theier flames higher when needed, some just never light they stay as stagnant firewood in the fire place that is sad. great poem enjoyed it, very deep spiritual which i like that anyone can interpret their own way, this is my way sorry if i went on....

A lot going on in this piece, yet the reader never feels overwhelmed. Great job.

I wrote this right after a fist fight with my mother.

Wow, that explains a lot about the intensity of the piece.
There is so much here. I need to keep reading, over an over, to milk new meaning. I'm curious about where you would make breaks if you divided it up. Thanks for the gift.
