Everyday Problems Are For Everyday People

Everyday Problems Are For Everyday People

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

(to address)

"
to argue purely sophistically
is to argue very pretentiously
in all our practical affairs
beyond all our pure speculations
all our high philosophy fades
my dear, my darling dear. . .
to live each and everyday apt
ordinary thought must indeed be your map
if it bleeds it will die
if it eats it will live
if it speaks... we shall respect that
         accordingly
always and every time
         accordingly

This poem is definitely more thought-provoking than most. The only thing I'll say is that every word fits, like a puzzle, perfectly with the next. You've touched upon a greatness in writing that few people can. HOWEVER, the word very in the second line rubs me the wrong way. Perhaps it's just my personal taste, but I would omit it. Now, excuse me while I reread this poem a few times and savor your craftsmanship.

Did I type "think"? I meant "thing". I really need to stop day drinking on sundays.
