Flesh, Blood, and Breath

Flesh, Blood, and Breath

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

.

"
the flesh
bloody
does it speak
candidly
to you
carefully
does it tell you things
beyond all the bandages
put together
absurd
jig sawed
dark
and clear
glued enough
holding
to be
just right
shadowed
and delusional
cloudy
clearly hiding
all the mess
of counter productive
viciousness
addictive
dangerous
safely
stupid
intelligent
monstrous
angelic
humane
nature
of every
f*****g
thing
that brought you
to me now. . .
is it still?
 only
 just enough
to just breath
just
 like a human
over a lifetime of thoughts
dead things
mistakes
awfulness
unspeakable things
toward a destiny
born to die
inevitably
dead alive
for
f*****g
ever
and so on
and so forth. . .
until all is bloodless
dead
without breath
. . . and just flesh

This cycle was never made to truly end. Death feeds new life. Life is savage when the veneer of optimism is moved aside. This dichotomy has and will continue to spur existential adventure within ourselves (when the desire for such adventure is present). Reading this I find a sibling to the growing pains of this world which we are forced to categorize and prioritize with nothing more than our consciousness which was molded by the very world we learn to fear. We are savage animals with the lofty minds of gods. I really enjoyed this. I liked the way it was segmented and built upon. Everything worked.

That animalistic nature lies within all of us..
There's an urgency to how this poem reads, which I like. The formatting / use of single words or short phrases per line adds to this I think.

Violence, savagery. I fear it, but I have spoken to you about it before. It is within us all, and we are all capable of doing dreadful things if we are pushed to the extremities. I don't even like to think about it, but it lurks. And your choice of music David, wonderful. You have shown Anne-Sophie Mutter before, you introduced her to me. A fabulous start to my morning. Happy New Year.

She is the greatest living violinist, in my opinion.
I really enjoyed this poem and the way it portrays the viciousness of pain and death. Beautiful job. This is totally original and the flow is spectacular. Keep up the good work!

Nothing is truly original anymore. Thanks for the kind remarks though.
