Who We Are

Who We Are

A Poem by David george
"

is a part of everything

"

we wouldn't be here without it

that girl who broke your heart

that time you felt ashamed

those things that drove you crazy

that art that filled your heart

those eyes that pierced your mind

those times that made you cry

we wouldn't be here without every one

we wouldn't be anything now, but for all of them

and then some

We shape ourselves, sub consciously, consciously, from past experiences, using both good and bad to hopefully make us a better person.I've tried this as a father, being to my daughter all that I would have wanted from my old man if he had bothered to stick around.
Hope you are well David and life is good.

I like this one. It has breath and balance. That makes me go beyond thinking. I would say this is a happy poem. Where we see how life has changed us.
Your title and selection of photo pulled me in, but your words keep me till the end.

That's why I don't believe in regrets. The things we did in the past really shape us to what we are today- stronger and persistent.
