Fast Forward to Your Past

Fast Forward to Your Past

A Poem by David george
"

Rewind to your future

"
sometimes to know more you must see less

and to know patience

is to remember a future

from a yesterday

and its days before

long before we were hunters

in those times we were prey

sometimes to know more you need to see less

on this day

into tomorrow

what comes from the past

what makes every future

hidden in time

are secrets of mind

to remember that future

to shine brighter tomorrow

to see further without looking

is to know what is purpose

and to know what is aimless

precious and intimate

dangerous and fleeting

sometimes to know more you have to see less

of today

for the sake of tomorrow

because of yesterday

we will live for today

to die for tomorrow

like it happened before

but better next time

Good poem with rhythm, and I think it would be a good song. I'm not sure if I have a past worth remembering, as I do look forward to brighter future. I believe reality will only get better at this point (it has to) for all of us. This work really made me think. Good work!

An enigmatic work of art worthy of keeping as an inspiration in writing.Wonderful.

I like the poem but I find it terrifying to think we might live on some predetermined timeline in which events in our lives are destined or preprogrammed. The simulation theory is rather terrifying. I love sci-fi movies on the subject but if I ever where given the choice between red pill vs blue pill, I'm really not sure which I'd take. Ignorance is bliss but truth is like a highly addictive drug.

I cannot disagree with you there. It's a terrifying concept.
The negative past that lies in our minds can indeed impact our future. Often today's mistakes are the product of unresolved past pain. Our tomorrows will be no different until we deal with it.
