a love poem

If you ever loved me

like I love you

if you ever said "yes"

when I said "i do"

If your heart raced wildly

when I spoke your name

if you loved me more than words

and I the same

your love would be a thoughtless whisper

floating in the sky

expressing itself to everyone

so that they'd know why

we laughed when we kissed

why we joked when we fought

why we always ate chocolate in secret

so we'd never get caught

expressions like this

is why I'll always miss her

that girl that was you

her love a thoughtless whisper
