Mirror

Mirror

A Poem by Habeeb Tehseen
"

As I sat reading Sylvia Plath's "Mirror", I couldn't help but write a version of my own.

"

I have never seen myself, Neither have you. In the words of Plath, we are incomplete. Searching for a soul that never was, and never will be.

But, who has seen themselves, in all their perfections, All their imperfections? None. Yes that’s what I thought.

Whenever I look into this four cornered god, All I see is a ghost, a ghost of a conduit. A reflection.

My left eye for my right eye, My right hand for my left.

I have left my mind with indecision, Am I a soul or a reflection?
