Little Thoughts When the Day leaves Us in the Dark

Little Thoughts When the Day leaves Us in the Dark

A Poem by Lizardo
"

Something new

"

Falling sun at day's end

I sit behind a waterfall of dreams

Because outside my nightmares are haunting my dreams

In this cave where I crave for light

I see only dark and night

Even though the sun is hiding its sight

I enjoy my last minutes with light

Autumn leaves fall from a tree

I gently look at the falling leaves

Where I see my mind jump on trees

Stars on midnight's night

I called my sanity to come back in time

It told me it wouldn't be late this time

But It didn't come back

So I had to go on my own

To bring it back home

Waking sun from space

Where stars shine with grace

I wake up to live another day

Although this time I feel alive

But Inside it's a raging war to survive

I can definitely say that this poem pulled at my heart strings. That last stanza was pretty intense especially the last line. All in all, the poem is really good. The words reflect the honest words of a person going through a tough time.

" But Inside it's a raging war to survive "

The truth in this line is actually weighs upon one's heart.
Great work Lizardo. :)

It is not nice when Mother Nature allows each of us mortals to get out of sync with our time and place in the universe as everything that we know is thrown off or out of kilter. We are, after all, creatures if habit, even though, we will swear on a stack of bibles that we are not.

Well it's interesting young man that I selected this one to read. Beings I deal with light and dark in much of my work also. I see things here I would change that are minor, but I am not focused right now to do that, sorry, Just a bit of reading and proofing needed. You are speaking many of my words and thoughts, nicely done.

always a battle to survive for so many reasons...you depict it really well here with your wording...only suggestion would be to drop the "fall" at the end of the first line.

but yes, "waking sun from space' like that.
