The Hush Sound

The Hush Sound

A Poem by Lizzie Mitchell
"

This poem was born from the feelings I had one day while listening to The Hush Sound's album, Like Vines.

"
I want to drown in the hush sound.
Let the waves of sweet music engulf me as I drift off to sleep.
I want to melt into my mattress as the melodies move me.
Let the harmonies swirl around my head like leaves dancing in the wind.
Let the upbeat blossom in the sunlight of song.
Watch the downbeat trickle in streams along the sacred sidewalk of solitude.
I want to forever be carried through the melodious vibration of vocal cords coursing through perfectly played instruments.
Why must the world be more than just love, the hush sound, and me?
