Life

Life

A Poem by Lindsey

Is life what it really seems,

Living on love, hope, and unatainable dreams,

We go to bed each night repeating our goals,

Imbedding them into our heads and into our souls

Only to wake the next morning to find,

It's never gonna happen it was all in your mind,

You go on with your day just like the last,

And wonder what would be different if you could change the past,

Remembering the days when you once felt alive,

Now pulling yourself throught the day just trying to survive,

You now have children husbands, and wives,

Keeping your dissappointment quiet so you don't disrupt their lives,

Knowing you could never give them up in a million years,

So be happy, strong, and hide your tears.

Just spelling on "Imbedding." I hear the narrator's pain. I often feel this way myself. Very heartfelt and universal circumstances!

Welcome,

This is really good. It is truly a wonderful piece of writing - a lovely poem. It engages the reader, keeping them hooked from the very first sentence, posing an interesting question: "Is life what it really seem" ?
The poem flows very well. Although, in some places it was as if the rhyming was a little forced. But, anyway, good job.

this is a very honest piece. I respect that, it is very hard for an author to open themselves up their own demons. However it most be done in order to tell a story from all sides...

this seems like a Tony Robbins pep talk in rhyming couplets! the rhymes and the syntax are solid, and the message is clear enough. My only suggestion would be to maybe format it like couplets? and the line length seems to be dictated by rhyme rather than meter/feet/syllables, so maybe fit it into a tighter scheme? tho that may make it more "sing-songy".
