A Poem by Slurred Confusion

You are at the edge, are you ready to jump?

Breath is shallow, heart is skipping
Palms are sweaty, stomach is kicking

The cliff is high, and the river is deep
No bridge to cross, you're forced to leap

The goal is there, just on the other side
But fear and being comfortable, keeps you behind

With all the others, who refuse to move
Their purpose is to restrain, they choose never to improve

Words soaked in poison, spills off of their lips
A cancerous spread of discouragement, meant to latch on as ticks

Be deaf to the lies, it is only a matter of time
Until you swim to the other side, to reach your life's prize

Positivity awaits you there, from those who dared to leap
Can you hear them cheering? Encouragement is what they teach

Adrenalin flows through your body, as water from a water pump
Your at the edge, are you ready to jump?
