Deep Down

Deep Down

A Poem by Prototato
"

I have to thank Lynaelee in this poem. I never have before, and it's about DAMN time she gets recognized for being amazing. Thank you, Lyn. You've helped me beyond words. And so this is for you.

"
Eyes are the portal to the soul
But what if one doesn't reside?

Love is spread to the heart
But what happens when it hides?

When the mind no longer runs
When the heart no longer loves
When the soul no longer sustains
When the body's no longer mobile
And the imagination's in the rain
And the world becomes hostile

Look into my eyes
And join me with my demons
My hiding self residing in a cage arranged of blades to the same one who made them
Pry me loose
Let me be free
Let me love
Let me flee
Let me relax
Let me be calm
Let me become me
And shatter my bonds
And create myself again
And forge a new self

Come to me
Because I need you more than ever
Look me in the eyes
Feel my pain
And answer my questions

Free me from the demons and cages
Layers of misery
The seven circles of hell in the back of my brain

I need you
But can't see you
Have no idea where you could be
And am abandoned until you arrive

Yet a spark lays in front of me.
I'm beginning to see...
Someone's helping me
Allowing my senses to believe
In something I cannot be
In someone who will never arrive
Giving me a drive
Allowing me to dive headlong into this life

Lynaelee...

Am I breaking free..?

Wow. This is just so amazing! Lynaelee, thank you, because you caused this wonderful piece to drop from Prototato's pen. It's just so wonderful. But the end forever. The beauty and subtlety and gentleness of the question, what more d'you want me to say?

Love,
Vasilees.

This is so lovely! Always a pleasure to see people getting inspired from each other, from their words, from their actions. Its all just so...ethereal. Hope you both remain friends forever. Keep inspiring...and also, a very well written poem! Keep writing, too.

Haha, perfect
♡♡I'm touched! And speechless - or at least totally stumbling over the words in my head. No one is too far gone thst the hand of friendship is forever to be rebuked. 'Tato, breaking free is an understatement... you're living! Time and distance mean little. The cage you find yourself in is not permanent; I have watched you destroy multiple bars and give yourself wiggle room. You are growing as a person: writer, and brother. You can do great things. You WILL do great things. I'll be here every step of the way to cheer you on and help you find your footing again. Let's face it, you're stuck with me, kid.♡♡
