The breaking of the drought

I awoke hearing the rain on the roof. It was 8:45 am, not early, not to late. I rose and showered, listening to the rain getting harder on the roof. I dressed in black, my hair not yet dry, and set off into the rain. With no shoes I splashed through puddles and when I saw the patch of bush I headed in without a thought. 

 

The rain fell through the leaves with a pattering sound to kiss the mossy forest floor. As I wandered I came across some wild blackberries, ripe and wet from the rain. They stained my fingers and mouth purple and scratched my hands, but they tasted delicious.

 

I ran, following unused paths from a childhood I would never forget, my dark curls swinging around my face and my black clothes sodden.

 

Everywhere the world was blooming, come back after the summer drought and flourishing in the warm rain.

 

 When I got home my clothes were damp and my sprits bright.

I love this. This stuff is so completely not my kind of thing - but you've surprised me, and I've surprised myself. It's so succinct, but it's packed yet uncluttered. I can imagine being there, or even being that girl. I love the closing statement "This is what I did this morning". It makes me think "what a great start to the day, and why not do it tomorrow too. I wonder if it happened yesterday too? The imagery is so vivid. It's bang-on, as they say over here.

Sounds like an awesome day! I to love the rain... Right now i'm in Portugal and all it's done here is rain. XD I have done the same thing sort of... I went outside the other day and walked down to the beach in the rain and just thought to my self, Why am I even here? It's freezing out here?
It was because the rain seems to make me feel at peace, I don't know about how it makes you feel, but to me it's just calming.

(I to have dyslexia, I to have been suffering through depression, and as far as I can see your writing is amazing! I know that it may be hard for you but trust me, if you look for the small little things in life that seem to bring you down then you'll stary depressed. Like you did that day, went out in the rain and it made you happy, it made you feel good that day. I have been heartbroken from someone i loved dearly that left me. Trust me I know depression... You may ask, why does he care so much? It's because I do care. What I do Is try to make others happy. I'm sorry. I am here for you if you need someone to talk to... Life is hard, but we can make it better. :) Just take it one day at a time, look for the good in that day, if it's the rain or what ever makes you happy. And remember I'm here if you need to talk to me.)
