The Ocean's Call

The Ocean's Call

A Poem by Claude
"

I tried to put into words how much the ocean and surfing mean to me.

"
Every surfer remembers their first call from the ocean.
No foot may have broken the water's surface,
But the call was  still there.
Time, experiences, and memories forge the bond stronger.
The relationship endures time, life changes, and geography.
It is an addiction of sorts.
There is no cure that I have found.
As is the case with genetics, this love of crest is passed to children.
And as often is the case, it is more rewarding through their eyes.

Years later, my love of surfing has given me hope and desire for the future.

I understand this call from nature, a call that can't be refused, even though I am not a surfer. I do love the ocean almost as much as the desert...
