A Poem by loverly9316

home
home is where the heart is
no that is not correct
...

my heart is at a house with red faded shutters
my heart is in that concrete slab, in their clutter
my heart is with their family the happiness they share
my heart is where that house is. no matter how fair

my heart is split between where i lay my head
and the spot where there was my old bed
i walked back in time for just a while today
and reminisced old memories of where i used to lay

a home is made from memories
not from concrete molded together by misery
happiness is what holds the home together,
remorse and anger breaks a home forever

remorse i have let shed from this shell
living my life moving on from that hell
i am growing up and living life without that home
i am me and now i can be well known

that house no longer defines who i am
it is who i was the old me
the used to be
...
