Nighttime, My time

Nighttime, My time

A Chapter by Rose
"

the sky and her phases

"
The sky has several phases
Before she is engulfed in darkness

A holy light creating patterns from the curtains
to my skin

An artist spreads their brush across the sky
She has turned to a delicate tone of a peach

A lilac blooms in her sky

Sometimes she may turn grey
Your mother asks you to bring the washing in

Slowly, surely
the lilac dies releasing darkness into her sky
Alien blue

Down here, it darkens
I see her remnants on the treetops

Lilith's shadow creatures awaken
Feet stumble, panic rises
Focus on the shapes of the cattle
A sleeping horse

An odd croak to keep one's eyes alert
The birds return home

I observe from afar
the families sitting at the dinner table through the windows

My breath becomes the only sound
Pale skin to guide through her darkness
I expect to find loneliness
I find her standing above me, beside me
Showing her darkness

I greet her in the morning light
