Viricide I

Viricide I

A Poem by Aura Inanna
"

That poor gold-digger's husband, oh no...

"

I want to be a bride in golden veil

Let me live a favored life by your side

Let me live a wretched life of beauty lied

I want a heaven down to perfect detail

A dress, swimming light like a mermaid’s tail

I want to be a pitied blesséd bride

A swimming lover, in long veil I hide

A thief, sitting pretty on the Holy Grail

Before my innocence has gone along

I’d like to take my husband’s ring in hand

I’d like to take his faith and give a song

Of orchids, and wisdom, and love so long

I’d like to give it to him, his truth, his band

Before a dinner date goes wrong, so wrong
