Alone

Alone

A Poem by lynnsl

all grown up, you’re an adult now
where's life’s instruction’s?, because I don’t know how

the roads too long, and I’m unsure
thinking to myself 'I wish I was her'

memories of people that came and went
who would have known you'd make such a dent?

ask me a question, I’ll tell you I’m fine
picking up the pieces, one at a time

tossing and turning when I try to sleep;
I knew that was a promise you couldn't keep

wandering through the years, you must have forgot
you've left me alone in this city to rot.
