A Poem by lynnsl

You took me to places I’d never seen before

And every time we said goodbye, you left me wanting more

Lighting up your cigarettes amidst the party noise

Already had me thinking that you’re not like other boys

Dark curls, brown eyes, a smile that made me blush

And if I tried to protest, I was always hushed

Kisses in the hallways, touching in the park

Ever since I saw you, attraction from the start

Everything was so carefree, like we had so much time

My infatuation grew for you with every charming line

I let you have your way with me; you filled your wants and needs

But you couldn't have just one girl, too caught up in your greed

Then the phone calls stopped coming, my heart began to break

And suddenly it dawned on me; I’d made a big mistake

I was not the first girl, and I sure won’t be the last

To fall for all your lines, it happened all too fast

It was so simple, just a player in your game

As you slowly walk away, I’m the one to blame

I should have seen this coming; I believed all your lies

I finally learned my lesson; you’re just like all the other guys
