Away from reality

Delete all the roses rainbows and dreams

Take away the sun
What on this earth have we done

Where are the people?
Whys it so dark?
I hear a beat
Wait a minute it's my heart

Everyone take your hand
Grip it around wrist
Place on your neck
Place on your chest
There's your drum beat
Now you make the rest

Write your own lyrics
Make your own track
Play your own bass
And keyboard if you add it
And your guitar
Now think back

You are your own muse
Your own saviour
Now beileve in yourself
And call it a wrap

I like the steady rhythm of this poem. I love the movement from stanza to stanza, and the images it conjures of silent reflection, of tearing away the ideal and looking inward for the truth. I enjoyed each line! Thank you for sharing this!
