Reeling

Reeling

A Poem by Maddy

Most of the time

I feel like I want to die

No one notices me

No one seems to care

All I ever do is cry

Then you show me I’m wrong

You open my eyes

So I can finally see

The girl that has always been there

The girl I long to be

You helped me find my voice

You inspire my every choice

Your influence is all around

With you I am unbound

It’s the best feeling

When I’m reeling against the ceiling

And then I hit the ground

What was that awful sound?

Its reality knocking on the door

It’s judgement walking in

People keep trying to convince

That it’s the ultimate sin

They are so sure that we are in the wrong

Do they really know what’s going on?

The pacing is really nice in this piece, overall I enjoy the message and smooth wording.

Very well articulated, I liked the fact, although I'll never truly understand your struggle, that you were able capture a certain energy that allows the reader to feel the raw emotion, but also gives the reader a glimpse into some of the prejudices that people deal with everday, for a plethora of different reasons.
All in all very good writing. Keep up the good work
