Part II of The Box (The Girl)

Part II of The Box (The Girl)

A Poem by M.A.

A girl….

But not a girl…

She is not unique.

A mere creature hidden by the masses.

Hallow gray orbs.

Convey little to no emotion.

Lifeless ashen hair,

Lays dead atop her head.

Ragged clothes threaten to swallow her whole.

Inside The Box.

No hue.

No life.

No originality.

Those are the rules,

Of the people in The Box.

Just shadows of once pulsing souls.

The tragic remnants of Humanity.

What is this???

The girl!!

She looks up and away,

From the given path laid before her.

Blasphemy!

Cast your head down girl!

The hand of the oppressors comes crashing down.

The girl shrieks.

Crumble to the ground she does.

The spark snuffed out.

Even her blood has no color.

And I weep.

I weep for the girl.

Who does not know how to make-

No. how to carve her own path.

Nor has the strengthen to resist the restrains of The Box.

It's a beautiful piece that evokes colourful images and leaves you with a strange feeling of melancholy. I really enjoyed reading it and will definately return to read it again!!

This is a brilliant second part of The Box! Again you have found the right words to form a poem that people will be able to connect to. Absolutely amazing! Keep this up Madison! :D
