My Misery

My Misery

A Poem by Michael Wright

Once it was called sweet misery

But it brought nothing but pain

It was never to be sweet

NO one could hear the screams

To torment deep under my skin

It had been here so long

Days and nights are shaded gray

Misery never needing company

It has become my only friend

I wished it was so easy to delete

It has surrounded me in darkness

From all this pain finding the answers

Not having to feel the weight of this world

Breaking the chains for real freedom!

My Misery will still never end

if only it were as easy as hitting key on the keyboard, and deleting the pain....yes, and whoever said misery loves company, because it never acts as if it even likes the person it is with...more hateful and spiteful than anything else.

this poem speaks volumes.

Misery, grief, can take hold of our thoughts like its life depend on it. I suppose in some ways it does. A heartfelt poem for me here.

There is a very tangible pain and sadness in these lines..May the sunlight take pain away each day.
