gemini

gemini

A Poem by Mia Sparrow

fixed in the constellation gemini

pollux and castor

array the night sky

like sentinels guarding

eternity’s portal.

i cast my eyes to the milky way

and regard the twins in their brilliance

assuaged of despondence

i revel in starlight

where once a city skyline

was empyreal to behold.

but for tonight

my eyes did wish to see

colors of the empire’s spire

and the streetlamps

down franklin street.

my glimpses espied

the beta star pulsing brightly

allaying encompassed malaise

from the darkness about me.

Lovely. Excellent contrast drawn between the heavens and our earn-bound existence.

"assuaged of despondence
i revel in starlight"

This is a wonderful phrase and I understand the feeling so well.

Greatly enjoyed.

Best regards,

Rick
