It's None of Your F*****g Business

It's None of Your F*****g Business

A Poem by MM.P
"

Thoughts of a married women, in a man hating world

"

It’s none of your f*****g business

A voice not often used

Speaks of man who loves so deep.

From the masses, but of course

comes the side glances, then eye rolls,

then whispers

Words not spoken, thrown over a cold shoulder

I don’t want to feel ashamed

To love the man in my arms.

Not because he’s a bad man,

Quite the opposite, in truth.

I don’t want to be kept quiet,

About the love that we grow.

Men outcast, and demonized

Hard to believe they aren’t all bad

I want to tell the world

That our marriage is not perfect

But a disagreement with him

Is worth more than the silence of me

Next comes the lonely card,

She can’t be alone.

No, she can.

But why be alone, alone

When you can be alone, together?

Darkness kept at bay

By the warmth of his hand

His words a constant reminder

That I’m stronger then it all

They say,

Your too young,

I hate this the most.

First, this is my life.

Second, f**k off.

I don’t want to be viewed

As less of a woman,

For loving a man,

For taking his name.

Yes, I “bare” his children

No, I’m not barefoot and pregnant

No, I don’t take care of the kids.

Yes, we take care of the kids.

I don’t want to feel silenced

When I speak about our journey.

We’ve leaned on each other,

Never letting the bad settle for too long

Everyone looks between the lines.

Wanting to see something bad.

So you talk about the good,

But Don’t talk about the good too much,

Because then you’re hiding something bad,

But don’t say anything bad because,

Then you look like a fool.

So you keep.

Your mouth.

Shut.

But they talk anyway.

Your silence means he’s silenced you,

He controls you,

He owns you.

No hunny,

That’s only in the bedroom.

Dominance in the bedroom?

Yes, you heard me right.

The idea of a women succumbing to a man,

My god! How dare you?!

But I like it you see, it’s a choice that

I

Made.

I like to feel his hands around my neck,

As his strength dominates my body.

I like the limits we choose to come close to,

With his power to bring us back.

But the power isn’t his,

Do you see?

It’s mine.

With a jolt of my body

Or a touch from me to him,

He stops.

Immediate release.

That’s called trust.

And it’s what we have.

Him to stop.

Me to say enough.

Don’t judge me for my happiness

Just because you haven’t found yours.

Don’t judge my love letter to a man,

When you don’t judge a man’s love letter,

To a woman.

I am my own person.

Something I’ve made sure of.

Something he’s made sure of too.

But you know what you’ve never asked?

Has he lost himself in you?

Does he obey you?

Live every whimpering breath

For you?

Does he come at every command?

Does he bend to your every whim?

Does he change his life for you?

Does he succumb to you?

No.

No, you never asked.

And you know what?

It’s none of your f*****g business.
