Repetition

Repetition

A Poem by Rae

What makes you feel alive?
Do it. Do it again.
Do it so many times that you can feel
the marrow of your bones
ache with emotion.
I want you to understand something:
This is all that you have.
This one moment of clarity where the world
and who it tells you to be
suspends in the dust,
and you are left with this,
yourself,
your lungs and fingernails and thunder
and desires and the air and the people
swirl around you like you are the center
and you are the thing keeping it all in
motion.
You are left with life at its purest,
most elemental form.
Dance with certainty.
Scream like your heart has shattered.
Feel yourself amidst a world where your
body is the art
and you are the distant fire of the sun.

Beautiful poetry. I felt very relaxed reading this. I love the vivid imagery you used :)

To kiss the love that is only embers, burning with desire. Only you can feel the stars that keep winking as if to say it is just you and I and ecstasy .
Well you asked.
