Stand

Stand

A Poem by Maia
"

I wrote this for my mother during a difficult time in her life.

"
I'm dying to my flesh
And not eating food.
Just hoping that out of this situation,
will come something good.
People ask me if I'm okay,
honestly I don't know.
Never had the question of,
"Should I stay or should I go?"
What's happening to my family
seems like an endless cycle.
Moving here and moving there,
living with people you THOUGHT, would care.
I learned that the only person you could trust,
is God.
That He's going to get you
Out of your mess,
Holding your hand through this test.
Faith that the breakthrough will come,
Faith that when the day is done,
He's still there.
Sometimes it seems easier just to give up,
Throw it all away.
And tell Jesus,
"I cannot bear this cup."
But He died for a reason,
And in the times that I don't think I can
I remember what Paul said,
"After you have done everything to stand,
Stand."
