Expression Undone

Expression Undone

A Poem by M. A. Kilcorse
"

The Earth; art crafted by the masterful hand of the natural order

"

Softly speckled plumes of cloud

Cover and surround my being.

A thousand layers unfolding fast

Breathing light into my eyes.

That little spark, that silent zap

Reveals a state left to explore;

Through the paths, the twists and turns

From when our memory was born.

Marvel in the solitude.

Give life to single thoughts,

That moment of expression, undone.

The ground below still bends and breaks

Everyday beneath our step.

Trees still grow and bow in the wind

Regardless if we are there.

The Earth did give our life to us,

Yet we spit upon her face,

Disgracing our own mother

We prepare for our coming fate.

Weep before the untouched glory,

The world, a sculpture, a piece of art:

A moment of expression, undone.

I use writing not just as an escape, but as a construct. To see non-physical ideas take life in the form of places and people is the magic and mystery of creative writing. more..
