The Superhero of my Heart

this one is especially made for my man....hope you guys like it

As a woman coming of age

Everyone is waiting for you to turn the page

The page of your life when you need a man

A marriage…alas! But you need someone

 

Let’s look back first at the guys I met

Why it all ends up... My eyes are wet

They are the villains of my life

They use words to hurt my heart much like of a knife

 

I met a Joker who will make you laugh then cry

I met a Loki who deceive you pretending to be shy

I met a Lex Luther as blunt as he can be

I met a Brutus who thinks no one is as strong as he

 

And now someone came and beat them all

Someone who stayed and made me fall

He is the Dark Knight of my heart

He is my Superman when I get hurt

 

He can be Clark Kent, so simple, so silent

The Green Lantern that light me up when I’m impatient

Sometimes chatty and cheerful like Peter Parker

A Daredevil when I need a listener

 

He has this mystery I want to unravel

Someone I want to be the topic of my novel

And yes he’s imperfect like most superheroes do

But he’s the definition for me of love that is true

 

He will make you realize that heroes are not always strong

That a hero can also do something that is wrong

But when it comes to the happiness of his woman

He is willing to sacrifice his, and prove to you that he is the man
