deaths embrace

deaths embrace

A Poem by marie

the sunlight grows and ever warms
calling out to my cold dead heart
it listens not to the mourners about
shining on unwavering
it sends out heat and light
giving warmth to all around
but it can't warm me
for i am deep in the ground

the birds call,"rise up,rise up!"
yet i don't listen
the wind whispers,"come play, come play!"
still i pay no heed
i lie still in this enclosed bed
surrounded by the earths cold comfort
its hard embrace keeps me well hidden
safe from all but hell blaze

I like the contrast you have made between the living world, and the hidden grave. Evocative topic too.
