Fantasy

A Poem by Margie F
"

Sometimes you just need to get away.

"
Join me in a journey
to a place you'll never leave
A place where money grows
from Chinese maple trees

In this place
you'll have the car
you'll have the girl
you'll have it all

In this place
you'll never dream
of romantic nights
with ole Jim Beam

Each girl has a guy
every guy has a girl
or each girl has a girl
if that's how you whirl

Families are perfect
and never divorce
and every little child
will have their own horse

All have a house
and a beautiful car
with fridges filled
and full money jars

Never a time
is a tear shed
for this is Perfect
the Land of the Dead

For in the real world
where the living appear
you'll find lots of sadness
and feelings of fear

Some have a lover
some an old flame
but many will play
the cat and mouse game

Houses are expensive
and gas, we can't afford
Divorces--a dime a dozen
and children are state wards

The real world sucks
let's return to the place
where chocolate is calorie-free
and so is ribeye steak

There, I have
the perfect life
the perfect body
I'm the perfect wife

There are no bills
'cause every thing's free
In this Perfect place
called my Fantasy.

I went, and liked it so.much that life amongst the daily grind pales in comparison.
Just the other day, I won the lottery, bought the company and doubled everyones wages. Figured out what caused the big bang, accidentally found another seven dimensions, lost twelve pounds overnight, as well as my supermodel wife ang genius kids.
Reality on the other hand....i sucked all the chocolate off a kitkat and broke another dinner plate.
So in summation, reality sucks and each time im here I wish I was in the matrix :)

Oh, what would we do without our imaginations? Perhaps we would never overcome obstacles without the thoughts of success we'd seen in our minds. During my rough childhood, I spent much time dwelling in fantasy lands. A coping device, I suppose, and thank God it was available. I love this poem.

Brilliant poetic storytelling! What hits me first is the sarcasm in the first half -- so many details to exemplify the false fronts that so many lives wear. Then your turn to blunt honesty is so perfectly timed, well-balanced, leading into the crux of your message. The rhyme & rhythm are perfectly crafted to seemingly enhance your slightly-caustic tone (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Would be nice, your wish. Everybody having what they need. Your poem was logical and true. Most of us struggle to stay ahead of the bills. Thank you Margie for sharing your amazing words and your thoughts.

i love everything about this entire poem, it sounds great like the rhyming is perfect, and it is everything that i wish the real world could be. its all great but if i had to pick out one part that stands out and i like the most it is for sure is the opening.
