brain fingers and soul unite

brain fingers and soul unite

A Poem by marilyn 1225
"

a child practices for years, a teen plays, an adult does other things, then --, another chance again this time to rediscover the past with music my attempts at the piano oncemore

"
the sound of the keys  so clear   so wordless   and again  I begin
slowly , like a miracle, the notes still can be read,   Bach in its purity
visits me  like
it  did years and years past
slowly I play
each bar more assured
till there is music
once again
in my own ears      and in the  room that was  forever silent...

a miracle    then the pause, the break , and now the words
a feeble attempt to draw a pictrure of my  once again
rendezvous
 with Mozart, Bach
and tomorrow ,with  Billy  Joel...

ahhh    sighs will be for later

right now contentment reigns
if only for Today

Marilyn  oct 10 2017
for my mother who made me practice and took me for lessons, for my dad who bought a piano into our lives

"The Piano" having played a central role in my childhood family (my dad played & we all gathered around after dinner) . . . I very much relate to your message here. Your wonderment is well-expressed as the childhood experiences are felt thru rusty fingers of later life. Excellent snippet of life to illustrate thru words (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Nostalgic poetry and touching sentiment, both your parents saw your potential and had faith in their child's ability and indeed, even after all these years, you have lost little of that early talent!

A wonderfully penned tribute !

A wise couple...

seems we want to retouch so much rather than begin anew... some paint-over the bad 'til it isn't bad anymore (çept after midnight). Some never learned how to reach for themselves ...ever.
