City Lights

A Poem by Enknt

A continuation to "A month"

"

x - You were never the stars I wondered;
i - not the sky, or any gentle colour.
x - Although a fanciful figure,
i - you have hearts to devour:
i - a prosper for a mind of glamour.

x - Such vast, impenetrable selected senses:
ii - chosen, told, for constant breathing
x - -- yet like a famished flower,
ii - it stands uprooted; searching
ii - for its life's own meaning.

x - To negative sights and grey tunes,
iii - there is your eccentric melody.
x - Somewhat a modernised desolation
iii - of gleaming mystery,
iii - and of pitiful irony.

x - In anything, you are but free.

iv - An adrift of time and space;

x - a loss of both emotion and fate.
iv - But bounded by words of pace,
iv - what is the real life race?

x - 'Cause instead of sky bulbs,
v - you shone with bright luminosity.
x - Given off through reason of thoughts;
v - shown not above with gleaming fantasy,
v - but seen below in open reality.

x - And as you are,
vi - driven to structural functions:
x - dealt with chances and possibilities.
vi - May be classified with true passion,
vi - yet viewed through finite conclusions.

Nice flow of thoughts. You took the reader with you on a journey of place and memory. You allowed the reader to add their thoughts and logic to the words. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
