Cleave

Cleave

A Poem by mathiasthom

Setting one up
with subtle manipulation
to cover up
all those misgivings and frustration

Forgetting all about
the concepts known
as free will teetering,
imagination overblown

This community of uniformity
never made much sense
conformity is a sickness
which can only bring one down

Throwing spittle words into space
like society,
and keeping ones place,
this spark ripping up the dark

So alone,
this world doesn't seem to care
yet still needing to breathe
struggling to cleave

A new day dawns
still feeling somehow one doesn't belong
falling through the cracks,
yet somehow making an impact
