Symmetry

Symmetry

A Poem by mattbandstra

breath:
open eyes.
stagnant motion,
speaking in circles;
the noise has stopped
but my ears are still ringing.
when raining becomes pouring,
when a thought becomes an idea
transition: where you end and i begin.
when a day becomes a memory,
when sounds become music.
look outside the lines and
the beauty of symmetry.
i'll speak in circles;
stagnant motion.
closed eyes:
death.

I've read this over and over again, partially because it was one of the finalists for my contest, and partially because it's quite simply amazing.
I enjoyed it a lot. The symmetry adds a lot to the words, and I love how it starts with breath and ends with death. The transition in the middle is cool as well.
In fact, the whole thing is cool and this piece is definitely one of my favorites.
Keep up the excellent work! :)
