In Time of Death

In Time of Death

A Poem by Matthew Kult
"

A Thomas Nashe challenge I offered a challenge on my facebook page to give me a word, poem, or song and see what I could do. I was given In time of Plague by Thomas Nashe

"
Adieu, farewell, my tender friend.
This is the beginning of your end.
Fond, am I, of your lustful joys.
Most women are simply toys.
So no reason to act shy,
I am sick, and I know why.
Lord, have mercy on me.

No friend will save you now.
Time for me to take a bow.
Welcome to my game.
You have no other to blame.
Please continue to cry
I am sick, and I know why.
Lord, have mercy on me

Death is but an hour.
Time to feel my power.
Darkness falls from the air;
You have died young and fair;
But hell has closed your eyes.

Very dark and thought provoking. Overall great job on this one. A very interesting piece indeed.

I am actually not a fan of this one. But it was a challenge so I posted it. But thank you.

Funny how we don't even like some of our own stuff but others can fall in love with it.

Never is there enough credit for such ruthless attacks. The blond says, "easy does it."
