Wall

Wall

A Story by maxermous

I heard her cry quite a few times, she doesn’t want to talk to anybody but I appointed myself as standby anyway. After about 12 hours, she let me in on a peek of her seclusion, it was a blank wall with quite an amount of space. It was white. She didn’t trust anybody, neither did she trust me, she let me in anyway. Then she let me in further, as she told me: I’m gonna tell you something, it might scare you or put you in shock, in disbelief. I’m in depression, since age 8. Its been 12 years, and I’ve been planning my escape.

I didn’t know what to make of it. Whether I should believe her or not. She was right, I’m dueling with disbelief, or not.

Will you sit with me, she asked
You trust me?, I replied
No.

So do I.

Good, at least we have something in common.

Maybe in 3 hours, she’ll move out of the seclusion, in 3 years time, she’ll graduate from our ward. Till then, we sit back to back, a wall apart from each other.
